The Institute uses modern equipment that generates electron beams with the appropriate shape, power density and energy that can force beams to make specific movements. Moreover, the Institute can carry out work related to advanced control and diagnostic methods, including remote diagnostics with artificial intelligence elements.
The equipment enables the effective performance of the Institute’s current tasks with respect to electron beam technologies, the development of these technologies and successful competition with foreign entities. In particular, the Institute can:
- examine phenomena occurring in materials as a result of interactions of electron beams characterised by extremely high energy density;
- work out process procedures and special expert systems for electron-beam welding and surface modifications;
- carry out work on advanced and modern control systems for electron-beam welding units and other equipment, using high-energy electron beams; carry out work on diagnostic systems for the technical condition of the equipment.
Electron beam welding
Intended use: automotive, aviation, weapons, electromechanical, mechanical, measuring equipment and instruments and electronics industries.
The electron beam is used to weld all materials welded using traditional methods and in addition:
- Solids with increased carbon content;
- Metals with high thermal conductivity, e.g. copper and its alloys, aluminium and its alloys, gold, silver and platinum;
- Chemically active metals, e.g. beryl, vanadium, etc.;
- Metals with different physical and chemical properties, e.g. bimetallic tapes;
- Refractory metals (wolfram, tantalum, molybdenum, niobium).
Oferujemy:
- Development of welding technologies for specific details.
- Specialist advisory and consulting services related to the optimisation of the structure of welded elements and selection of the best materials.
- Welding of workpieces in the form of semi-finished products or ‘ready-made’ workpieces with a weight of up to 30kg and dimensions of less than 500 x 600 x 300 mm, made of steel, copper and its alloys, aluminium and its alloys, beryl, vanadium, precious metals, refractory metals (wolfram, tantalum, molybdenum, niobium), titan and its alloys, workpieces made of metals with different physical and chemical properties.
- Every workpiece to be welded should be accompanied by diagrams of basic welding parameters.
